HOW TO
Install

The installation of your printed mural or wallpaper is simple and does not require experience in laying wallpaper. It is however better for two people to work together to more easily align the patterns.
This information has been supplied in good faith, but without guarantee, and on the understanding that the installer will have decorating knowledge. We would recommend professional assistance to achieve the best results when hanging our wallcoverings.

INSTALLATIONS STEPS

PREP THE WALL

Before you begin installing your peel and stick wallpaper, prepare your surface and clear the work area. Make sure electrical outlets are off and remove wall fixtures. For best results, clean and properly prepare all wall surfaces with a sponge and all purpose cleaner. Old wallcoverings and paste residue should be removed.

MEASURE

Beginning on the left side of your wall, measure out from the corner the width of the paper (26/26.5 inches) and mark the wall lightly with a pencil. Put your level on this mark and draw a straight, level, vertical line. This is the guide for your first strip, it is very important for it to be level.

CUT WALLPAPER

Pre-cut strips to fil wall height. Make sure to align any design from strip to strip when cutting. Number the back of each strip as you go to keep your design in the correct order (only if pattern requires it). Cut and trim product with a sharp razon knife changing the blade often to help maintain a smooth clean cut.

PEEL BACKING OFF AND POSITION

Peel about 12″ of the backing away from the paper. Apply the paper to the top of the wall, allowing a bit of excess to overlap the ceiling which will be trimmed off later. Align the left side of the strip to your mark and lightly press the edge to the wall along the mark. You can reposition if needed to ensure a vertical seam.

APPLY PEEL AND STICK WALLPAPER

Working from top to bottom, pull the backing away as you evenly press the paper to the wall. Do not force, let gravity assist you. Be careful not to pull or stretch the material or the pattern will not align. For best results have one person guide the paper at the top and along the seam, while another holds the opposite edge away from the wall until the seams are lined up.

SMOOTH WALLPAPER DOWN THE WALL

Using a squeegee, work your way down the strip in a back and forth motion, smoothing the material to the wall and pushing out any air bubbles. Make sure not to use a roughly or sharp object to smooth the material as this could scratch the wallpaper. Trim off excess material at ceiling and baseboard with a straight edge and sharp razor knife.

REPEAT

  • Repeat procedure aligning your next strip to the right edge of your previous strip.
  • Overlap the pieces to align the pattern. This allows for a perfect seam between the pieces.
  • User your knife and ruler to cut a straight verticual line down through the overlap of the two pieces.
  • Peel off extras.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

If your wall has been repainted, allow the paint to dry for seven days before installing your mural or wallpaper.

We cannot be held responsible for the results of the installation if you make a mistake or if your wall has not been properly prepared.

No claim can be accepted for hanging incorrect wallcoverings or after wallcoverings have been cut and hung showing defects which were apparent at the time of hanging.

WALLPAPER
calculator

Calculating how much wallpaper you will need is easy, just follow these simple steps and you are on your way!

HELPFUL INFO BEFORE YOU START:

1 foot = 12 inches.

Roll width = 26.5 inches.

STEP 1

Measure the length of your wall. When ordering the wallpaper, make sure the length you choose is at least the lenght of your wall.

STEP 2

Measure the width of your wall. Divide your wall width by 26.5 inches.

Example: if your wall width is 10 ffet, this is 120 inches. Divide your wall width by 26.5 inches.

120 inches / 26.5 inches = 4.5

Therefore, you will need 5 rolls if your wall is 10 feet wide.
